CHEYENNE - The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services (DWS) Cheyenne Workforce Center and Laramie County Community College (LCCC) are designating April as career month in Laramie County.
The month of activities, sponsored by Union Pacific and Employment Support for Guard & Reserve, will include more than 20 sessions, including seminars on techniques for successful job interviews, workshops on how to utilize LinkedIn and skill-enhancing events like mock career fairs and job search strategy boot camps.
"Career month will culminate with the April 22 job fair, where many of Laramie County's top employers are registered to participate," said DWS Director Joan Evans. "With ample opportunity to prepare for the job fair, this series of workshops and seminars are designed to give participating job seekers an edge. Giving job seekers the tools to best present their strengths will translate to better job matches for employers. I want to thank LCCC as we look forward to a successful April."
"Today's job market, especially here in Wyoming, is filled with tremendous opportunities, as well as considerable challenges for those seeking employment or to advance themselves within a profession," said LCCC President Joe Schaffer. "I am excited for what we are offering during career month and am deeply appreciative of the support of our partners, especially DWS. The true beneficiaries will be our employers and the job seekers who take advantage of these opportunities."
