CHEYENNE - In honor of military service men and women this Veteran's Day, November 11, the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services (DWS) is recognizing the diverse and impressive skill sets of America's veterans, and encourages Wyoming's employers to do the same. DWS helps equip veterans with the tools and resources they need to secure employment and encourages Wyoming employers to strongly consider veterans as a key component of their workforce.
"The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services has numerous resources to assist Wyoming's heroes in their reentry into the workforce following military service," DWS Deputy Director John Ysebaert said. "As a veteran, I am well aware of the difficulties veterans may face as they reenter the workforce and encourage these fine men and women to take advantage of these tools available to them through our agency."
DWS offers highly trained staff and resources to assist veterans with their transition to civilian work. Among the services offered to Wyoming's veterans by the Department and its partners are: priority of service, transition assistance, career guidance, job search aid, outreach services, résumé writing, skills assessments, supportive services and training, among other services. The State of Wyoming and many employers offer a hiring preference for veterans.
"America's Veterans are incredible assets to our community. Their significant leadership skills, teamwork, and loyalty are unmatched; these qualities are consistently found in service members and are a testament to their military experience and dedication to our country, states, cities and communities," Ysebaert said.
