Governor's Summit on Workforce Solutions' Keynote to Focus on Net Generation
CHEYENNE - During the fifth Governor's Summit on Workforce Solutions May 27-29, 2009, Don Tapscott, a thought leader on the value and impact of information technology in today's business, will be the keynote speaker.
"As a visionary leader in the area of strategic value and the impact of technology and the Net Generation, Don Tapscott's address should inspire attendees into action," said Jeremiah Rieman, Policy Analyst for the Department of Workforce Services.
The Summit, hosted by the Department of Workforce Services in partnership with the Wyoming Workforce Development Council, will be held in Jackson, Wyo., at the Snow King Lodge.
According to Rieman, "The 2009 Governor's Summit on Workforce Solutions will prove to be the most relevant workforce solutions oriented conference that any business or employer could attend this year."
The keynote speaker, Tapscott, is considered an internationally renowned authority, having authored and coauthored eleven books on technology and business, including his new book "Grown Up Digital: How the Net Generation is Changing Your World" which explains how digital technology has affected the children of the baby boomers - a group Tapscott describes as the Net Generation.
"Everyone should walk away with an enhanced understanding on how to tap the potential of the networked economy and how the Net Generation works, how they learn and how their power and influence is changing business and society," Rieman added.
Tapscott is also chairman of nGenera Insight, a company which helps businesses advance to the next generation of technology integrated into their plans.
The Summit is an opportunity for employers and employees to explore and proactively address issues confronting them. "The most pressing issues facing all employers in the state, which will be addressed at the Summit, will be workforce housing, recruiting new workers, retaining a workforce, adopting new technologies, addressing generational issues and much more," Rieman said.
