State Veterans Service Officer Conducts Outreach in Eastern Wyoming

A state veteran's services officer will be meeting with veterans in several eastern Wyoming communities this week and next.

State veterans service officer Barry Gasdek will be available to meet with veterans in Wheatland and Guernsey this week, and with veterans in Lusk, Torrington and Fort Laramie next week.

Gasdek will assist veterans and their families with their state and federal benefits, claims and healthcare. Meetings are scheduled for today at the Wheatland Senior Center, 1605 16th Street, and tomorrow in Guernsey at the National Guard armory, 52 South Guernsey Highway.

Meetings are also scheduled for Tuesday, February 24 at the Lush Senior Center, 611 East 6th Street; Wednesday, February 25 in Torrington at the Goshen County Courthouse, 2125 East "A" Street; and Thursday, February 26, at the Fort Laramie Town Hall, 100 East Bliss. Office hours each day are 10:00 A.M. TO 3:00 P.M. EACH DAY.

Joan Evans, Director of the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services said veterans and/or their families who have any questions about any benefits they are encouraged to meet with Gasdek.

She said, "We appreciate the partnership with the veterans service commission in the fact they are able to serve our veterans by offering all the information they need in regard to benefit services." Evans continued, "If a veteran has questions about employment, we are happy to facilitate those questions through the Department of Workforce Services."

Gasdek is also available to meet with veterans and their families after hours and in their homes. Veterans are encouraged to call for an appointment. The number is 307-460-8195.
