Career Readiness Certificate Workshop Set for Gillette

GILLETTE - The Department of Workforce Services Gillette Workforce Center has teamed up with ACT, Inc. to offer businesses across the state free Career Readiness Certificate Workshops.

Joan Evans, Director of the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services, said, "These workshops will highlight the WorkKeys Assessment, designed by ACT, Inc., that is used to achieve the Career Readiness Certificate, and how it can measure students' and jobseekers' work readiness. We are bringing in Tom Kilijanek, an ACT expert, to explain the benefits businesses are seeing with the Career Readiness Certificate program and the success of the program since Wyoming has joined other states in promoting this nationally recognized credential."

The Gillette presentation is set for December 3, 2009 at the Campbell County Public Library located at 2101 S 4J Rd in the Wyoming Room from Noon to 1:00 p.m. A light lunch will be served.

Rob Black, Department of Workforce Services Community Projects/Grant Manager, encourages local businesses to take advantage of the complimentary workshops. "These workshops are great opportunities for Wyoming businesses to not only learn more about the WorkKeys program, but to help businesses put the program to work for them," Black said. "Business owners can learn how they can save on time and effort, and maybe even some money, when recruiting and hiring workers."
