Wyoming State Rehabilitation Council to Host Quarterly Meeting

CHEYENNE - The State Rehabilitation Council for the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services Division is holding their quarterly meeting on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 from 12:00 noon to 4:30 p.m. and on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon in room B63 of the Herschler Building located at 122 West 25th Street in Cheyenne.

The State Rehabilitation Council's Information Session, which is open to the public, will be held on February 5, 2008 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Parent Information Center Located at 218 West 26th Street.

State Rehabilitation Council members will be on hand to visit with you, offer information regarding the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, listen and discuss your experience with the division and present the many services provided by the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.

"The reason that they should come is that this is not a Vocational Rehabilitation function, there will not be any Vocational Rehabilitation staff there, so they can be honest in their discussion with their concerns with the program. That information will be forwarded to Vocational Rehabilitation staff without any identification on the part of the person providing the information," says McIntosh.

On February 7, 2008 the State Rehabilitation Council for the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services' Division of Vocational Rehabilitation will be presenting an Employer Award to the new Allstate Insurance Express Claim Center at 11:00 a.m. at the Allstate Insurance Express Claim Center located at 3001 E Pershing Blvd Cheyenne, Wyoming.

"The State Rehabilitation Council Employer Award is based on employer involvement with individuals with disabilities; normally they hire individuals with disabilities that have been Vocational Rehabilitation clients and show an interest in working closely with the client and the program to make this a successful employment outcome," explains Jim McIntosh, Administrator for the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.

The State Rehabilitation Council is authorized to review, analyze and advise the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services' Division of Vocational Rehabilitation on the performance of the vocational rehabilitation program. The council is dedicated to ensuring persons with disabilities throughout the state of Wyoming receive needed services.
