Go to the Online Foreman Application. (Accessing this site requires at least Internet Explorer 9, Google Chrome, or Firefox 17.)

Application Period: January 1 of each year until of each year.

Application Forms: Available online and from the State Mine Inspector.

Application Fee: $150.00 per examination.

Examination Study Guide: Available January 1 of each year. Each successful applicant is mailed a study guide and the State Mining Law Book pertaining to the exam applied for, as part of the application fee.

Non-applicants may purchase a study guide for $10.00.

Contractor Certified Person Test Information

Contractor Certified Person Certification for surface coal mines apply online. Go to the Online Contractor Certified Person Application. (This site requires at least Internet Explorer 9, Google Chrome, or Firefox 17.)

There is no application fee for the Contractor Certified Person Test. Once your application is completed you may download our study guide. Your company representative will be notified of your application approval and you will be scheduled for testing.

Inspector Rules Search

You can search through the Mine Inspector or Mining Council Rules available on the Wyoming Secretary of State website. After clicking on the link below, select "Employment, Dept. of" for the agency. You can then choose either "Mine Inspector" or "Mining Council" for the program.

Training Opportunities

The required MSHA New Miner, Annual Refresher, Electrical Recertification, Impoundment Recertification, Dust and Noise Recertification and First Aid/CPR classes are available through the Wyoming MSHA Grant Program in Gillette and Green River.
